For those of you who know our family, know that just before Christmas 2012 we received the most heartbreaking news any family could hear. We were told our (then) 6 year old son, Lachlan, had a tumor in the back of his brain/cervical spine. Its has been 14 months since that day! 14 months of doctors appointment after doctors appointment! 14 months of worry and a pain in my heart i couldn't describe even if wanted to. Its been 14 months... of not taking even one day for granted. But best of all its been 14 MONTHS and that THING in his head has not grown one bit!!!!! I understand we are just beginnning our journey on this long and scary road but with HOPE and the support of our family and friends we WILL find the light at the end of this dark tunnel.
I have never been very good at sitting patiently and waiting for something to happen, and with joining the Spring Sprint for the second year I am so grateful to be able to help!! Maybe some day, somehow we can help prevent tumors or find safer treatment options, or better yet a cure!
27 Canadians a day are diagnosed with a brain tumor, so i donated $27 but any amount is much appreciated.
